Filling
2 cups brown sugar
1 can Carnation evaporated milk
4 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons butter
4 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla
Meringue
4 egg whites
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
2 teaspoons cornstarch
6 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions
In saucepan, mix dry ingredients, egg yolks, butter and milk. Boil until thick. Add pinch of salt and vanilla. Pour into baked piecrust. For meringue topping beat egg whites, cream of tartar and cornstarch until foamy, add powdered sugar. Continue to beat until stiff peaks. Top warm pie with meringue and bake for 20 minutes in a 350° oven.
Microwave Instructions:
Filling can be made in microwave. Combine milk and brown sugar in a bowl. In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks and flour together then add to milk/sugar mixture. Microwave mixture, stirring every 5 minutes until thick. Stir in butter and vanilla until butter is melted. Top with meringue and brown meringue in oven.
